VIDEO: Rhode Island Senate candidate says opponent assaulted her at Roe rally

A Republican candidate working for state Senate in Rhode Island assaulted an opponent, based on a web-based publish.

Jennifer Rourke, a candidate for the state's twenty ninth Senate District, shared a video Saturday she claimed confirmed Jeann Lugo, her opponent, slapping her a number of instances. Police later confirmed Lugo was proven within the video.

"I am a reproductive rights organizer & State Senate candidate," Rourke tweeted. "Final night time, after talking at our Roe rally, my Republican opponent — a police officer — violently attacked me."

"That is what it's to be a Black girl working for workplace. I will not quit," she added.

Lugo dropped out of the race on Saturday. The candidate didn't give a purpose why, stating solely it was not "the suitable time to hunt workplace."

"I've determined now's the suitable time to hunt workplace, due to this fact I cannot be working for any workplace this fall," Lugo wrote.
