Canadian scholar receives ICCR’s ‘Distinguished Indologist for 2021’ award | World News

TORONTO: A Canadian scholar has been awarded the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Distinguished Indologist for 2021.

Jeffrey Armstrong was offered the award in a ceremony on Tuesday night by India’s consul-ceneral in Vancouver.

The quotation for the award states that it has been conferred upon Armstrong “in recognition of his excellent contribution to the research/educating/analysis in India’s philosophy, thought, historical past, artwork, tradition, Indian languages, literature, civilisation, society, and so on”.

The consulate-general of India in Vancouver had nominated Armstrong, founding father of the Vedic Academy of Science & Arts and writer of The Bhagavad Gita comes Alive.
