Rotterdam bridge cancels plan to make room for Bezos superyacht

A bridge in Rotterdam, Netherlands, won't be dismantled to make room for Amazon founder Jeff Bezos's superyacht.

The 417-foot yacht is being constructed by Dutch agency Oceanco and will not match beneath the bridge, nicknamed "De Hef," or "the elevate," except the center half is dismantled. Bezos dedicated to paying the fee to dismantle and reassemble the bridge to permit his $50 million yacht.

A neighborhood information outlet found the bridge plans had been deserted by submitting a freedom of data request in accordance with Dutch legislation. In response, Oceanco "knowledgeable the municipality that it's canceling its present logistical plans."

BIDEN HAS UNLIKELY AND ESCALATING BEZOS BEEF

Over 76,000 signed a Change.org petition to cease the dismantling of the 144-year-old bridge, which was just lately renovated in 2017. It has been a historic web site since World Battle II, when it was bombed.

"So long as you're wealthy sufficient, there aren't any restrictions in anyway. Monuments could be modified and guidelines — that apply to everybody — lifted," the petition's description reads. "The eagerness with which Bezos’ request is being indulged varieties a stark distinction to his personal rigidness and refusal in offering primary human rights to his warehouse employees (e.g. denying them toilet breaks and work-recess)."

One other 4,000 protesters deliberate to pelt the yacht with eggs because it traveled beneath the bridge.

"Calling all Rotterdammers," occasion organizer Pablo Strormann wrote in a since-deleted publish on Fb, "take a field of rotten eggs with you, and let's throw them en masse at Jeff's superyacht when it sails via the Hef in Rotterdam."

Bezos didn't reply to the Washington Examiner's request for remark.
