Former Rep. TJ Cox launched from jail after getting into plea deal on fraud fees

Former California Democratic Rep. T.J. Cox was launched from jail following a plea deal reached simply hours after being indicted by a federal grand jury on 28 fees of felony fraud.

Cox pleaded not responsible to the costs of wire fraud, cash laundering, monetary fraud, and marketing campaign contribution fraud, and he obtained conditional launch from Fresno County Jail on Tuesday night. As a part of his launch, Cox was ordered to give up his passport, limit journey inside California, abstain from contact with any witnesses, restrict consumption of alcohol or medicine, and test in with pretrial monitoring officers, in response to the Fresno Bee.

The case will resume with a standing convention in October. Till then, prosecutors and protection attorneys are instructed to change proof and witness interviews to arrange for trial.

Cox, 59, was indicted by a federal grand jury on 15 counts of wire fraud, 11 counts of cash laundering, one rely of unlawful conduit contributions to his congressional marketing campaign, and one rely of monetary establishment fraud on a mortgage, in response to the Justice Division.

If convicted, Cox may withstand 20 years behind bars and a $250,000 advantageous for the costs associated to wire fraud and cash laundering, 30 years and a $1 million advantageous for "wire fraud affecting a monetary establishment and monetary establishment fraud," and as much as 5 years and a $250,000 advantageous for marketing campaign contribution fraud, per the Justice Division.
