The sister-in-law of Pedro Castillo is ordered to spend 30 months in preventive custody per Peruvian law

A 30-month preventative detention order was issued by Choose Johnny Gómez Balboa on Sunday for José Medina, the mayor of Angua, and Yenifer Paredes, the sister-in-law of Pedro Castillo, the president of Peru.

The Public Ministry of Peru posted on its Twitter account that “(the) courtroom declares (the) request for preventive detention for Yenifer Paredes and José Medina, investigated for the alleged offense of felony group and others, for 30 months.”

Till February 2025, the accused should serve preventive detention. The Prosecutor’s Workplace has appealed the Justice of the Peace’s determination, who believed that the 36 months weren't cheap and as an alternative granted a time period of 30 months.

In its fiscal thesis, the Public Ministry had predicted that Paredes would function the principal “lobbyist” for a felony enterprise that Pedro Castillo would head. This plot, involving the “cashier and the sister-in-law” or “Angua case,” the mayor José Medina serving because the operator, and the businessmen Hugo and Anggy Espino Lucana, brothers, serving as figureheads, would even have concerned first girl Lilia Paredes.
