'Barney' documentary exposes darkish aspect of beloved youngsters's sequence

“Barney & Pals,” it appears, was not all the time a cheerful household behind the scenes.

Based on a brand new docuseries, “I Love You, You Hate Me,” the beloved youngsters’s present, which launched the performing careers of Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez, was the the goal of a number of hate.

The trailer for the two-part sequence reveals Bob West, a Barney performer, recalling demise threats he obtained because the purple dinosaur.

“They had been violent and specific, demise and dismemberment of my household,” he says. “They had been gonna come and discover me, they usually had been going to kill me.”

The present was created in 1992 by Sheryl Leach, Kathy Parker and Dennis DeShazer.

“Barney stands for inclusion, acceptance. You need to love everybody, all of us have Sheryl Leach to thank for that,” says a line within the trailer, which asks “Why does the world like to hate?”

“I Love You, You Hate Me” is ready to premiere Oct. 12 on Peacock.
