Former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour hospitalized following accident

Former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour was hospitalized Wednesday following a single-vehicle crash in Yazoo County, Mississippi.

In accordance with the Related Press, Yazoo County Sheriff Jake Sheriff mentioned Barbour advised emergency responders that a canine ran out in entrance of him, and the previous governor swerved and hit a culvert, overturning his SUV.

Barbour, 75, was sporting a seat belt, and the airbag deployed. He had a reduce on his head and complained of hip and will ache, Sheriff mentioned.

The previous governor was airlifted to the College of Mississippi Medical Heart in Jackson following the accident, Sheriff advised WLBT.

In accordance with a launch from the Mississippi Freeway Patrol, Barbour was “secure and alert” with accidents that weren't life-threatening.

Barbour, a Republican, served as governor of Mississippi from 2004-2012.
