Gunmen assault Shiite holy web site in Iran's Shiraz metropolis, 15 die | World News

Iranian state-run media is reporting that gunmen opened fireplace at a serious Shiite holy web site within the southern metropolis of Shiraz, killing not less than 15 folks.

The official web site of the judiciary says two gunmen had been arrested and a 3rd is on the run.

The state-run IRNA information company reported the casualty toll.

Sunni extremists have focused holy websites sacred to the nation’s Shiite majority up to now. The assault comes as Iran has been convulsed by anti-government demonstrations for over a month.
