An individual died and several other folks have been injured after an explosion rocked a busy pedestrian avenue in central Istanbul, Reuters reported.

A number of media shops shared photos and movies of the spot displaying injured pedestrians working from the scene of the blast. Turkish broadcaster TRT and different media studies confirmed ambulances and police heading to the scene on Istanbul's common Istiklal Avenue within the Beyoglu district. State-owned Anadolu company mentioned the reason for the blast was not but identified.

The close by Kasimpasa police station mentioned all crews have been on the scene however gave no additional particulars.
