World leaders congratulate Argentina following Qatar World Cup win

United States President Joe Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron are amongst world leaders who've congratulated Argentina President Alberto Fernández following Sunday’s World Cup victory in Qatar.

Argentina captain Lionel Messi led the 3-3 (4-2 on penalties) win over the 2018 defending champion France in an exciting remaining.

President Fernández confirmed in a Tweet that the decision with President Putin came about, saying: “Thanks for this greeting President Putin. Could the enjoyment that as we speak unites Argentina with so many peoples of the world serve for instance: our societies want unity and peace.”
