Sending jets to Ukraine not proper method ‘for now’, says UK defence minister | World News

Britain has not made a "strong determination" to not ship its fighter jets to Ukraine however doesn't assume it's the proper method in the mean time, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace stated on Wednesday.

"I have been concerned with this for a fairly very long time. And I've realized two issues; by no means rule something in and by no means rule something out," he informed reporters when requested why Britain wouldn't ship Ukraine jets.

"This isn't a strong determination," he added. "For now, I do not assume that is the fitting method. ... What is going on to maneuver on this battle this yr goes to be the flexibility for Ukrainians to deploy Western armour in opposition to Russia."

On Tuesday, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's spokesperson stated it could not be sensible to ship jets to Ukraine as a result of it could take months to be taught to fly them.

Wallace stated Britain's jets have been very advanced and may not be relevant in Ukraine.

"What they want proper now's armour and tanks," he stated. "I believe we might must be fairly positive that (jets) goes to be the following battle profitable requirement. However for now, I believe we're targeted on the tanks, the land battle."
