#JusticeForDixie: Petition to remove Ohio cop who killed canine will get 27K signatures | World News

Communities have come collectively to hunt justice for a canine who was senselessly shot ineffective by an Ohio police officer in entrance of the pooch’s horrified family. Dixie was a three-and-a-half-year-old golden retriever and Labrador mix. He was shot ineffective by Lorain Police Division cop Elliott Palmer. 

A petition demanding Elliott’s eradicating from the drive has now gone viral, and has garnered over 27,000 signatures already. Within the meantime, a peaceful rally was held for the beloved canine on the Lorain Police Station on 200 West Erie Avenue. The rally was held in assist of Dixie’s family to get Elliott away from the Lorain Police Division.

The petition reads, “The residents of the Metropolis of Lorain are calling for the immediate eradicating of obligation of Officer Elliot Palmer for the capturing demise of a family’s pet canine named Dixie. The officer carelessly shot the canine after calling for the canine to return to him, the canine was coming wagging her tail solely to be shot, then after the canine attempting to face up he shot her an extra thrice. The canine was not aggressive nor was she doing one thing to warrant such a horrendous act of violence. This isn’t the type of policing our metropolis needs nor needs. We demand options and willpower and justice for Dixie and her family.”

Whereas cops talked about the canine charged on the officer, Dixie’s family maintains that he was fully harmless and posed no menace. “When he shot her the first time, she dropped, she was attempting to crawl to me and my daughter for help and he continued capturing her,” talked about Tammie Kerns, the proprietor of the canine, in accordance with Fox 8.
