Merely Stop Oil protesters crash George Osborne's bridal ceremony, throws orange confetti | World News
An environmental protester belonging to the ‘Merely Stop Oil’ group on Saturday crashed former chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne’s bridal ceremony to Thea Rodgers and threw orange confetti on them. The incident handed off in entrance of about 200 people, along with numerous well-known politicians and journalists, inside the Somerset village of Bruton, UK.
In a video posted by the group on their Twitter account, a grey-haired lady sporting white could also be seen strolling in path of the couple – who had merely stepped out from the church after the ceremony – and commenced throwing orange confetti on them. Notably, the confetti was comparable in colour to the orange powder which is often utilized by Merely Stop Oil group over their heads, reported the Guardian.
The confused couple continued to walk, because the lady adopted them to empty the confetti from a union jack bag over them, until she was taken away by a security guard.
“You look good in orange @George_Osborne – congratulations to the newlyweds,” the group – a nonviolent civil resistance group demanding the UK authorities to stop licensing all new oil, gas and coal duties – wrote on Twitter.
Within the meantime, former residence secretary of UK Priti Patel on Sunday known as the act by Merely Stop Oil protester “shameful”. Sharing the video on Twitter, she wrote, “JSO are shameful, consideration searching for, disrespectful low life.”
